ERRC Grid Testing in Dallas, TX

Every public safety radio project starts here, and a meaningful number of them end here too. If your building already passes, you do not need a system, and the report proving it is worth having in hand before anyone quotes you equipment.

What the test actually is

We divide each floor into a grid, then take calibrated signal strength measurements at every point on it, on the specific Land Mobile Radio frequencies your jurisdiction's responders use. Those readings are scored against the thresholds your AHJ enforces, typically drawn from NFPA 1225 and IFC Section 510, covering both signal strength and the percentage of the floor area that must pass.

Critical areas get weighted differently from general areas. Stairwells, elevator lobbies, fire command centers, and basements usually carry a higher bar, because those are the places responders most need to talk from.

What you receive

A written report you can hand directly to your fire marshal or building official. If the building passes, that document is your evidence. If it fails, the same data set becomes the basis of the system design, showing exactly which zones are short and by how much, so nothing is oversized on guesswork.

About floor plans

We need plans to run a grid properly, and accurate PDF plans are what produce a usable design afterward. They let us record wall construction, note critical areas, and place readings precisely. In some cases a test can be done working from satellite imagery of the building, but the result is less useful and we will tell you so in advance.

When to schedule it

Early. Discovering a coverage failure at certificate of occupancy time is the expensive version of this conversation.
